“The Storm before the Calm”
By Isaac George

Boo! Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat, and here we go again…

The Days of the Dead are approaching, otherwise known as All Hallows Eve or the ancient pagan holy-day of Samhain. Dressing up in costume has been a universal part of celebrating or observing the waning middle days of the autumn, halfway between the September Equinox and the Winter Solstice. In Mexico and most of Latin America, the costumes are homages to the dead and dearly departed. Skeletal and ghostly visages, tattered clothing is accompanied by feasting and celebrating the freedom of the dead. In North America and parts of Europe, there is a nod to the ancient ways when children and some adults dress up as spooks, vampires, werewolves, and other dreaded icons of superstition and the netherworlds.

However, for some time the masks have come represent popular (or unpopular) political figures, celebrities, cartoon characters or movie heroes. The mask that has become almost universal during the past few years is the visage of the movie and comic book character “V”, a persona which has been adopted by freedom movements globally as a symbol of resistance and revolution. The anniversary for the original anarchist that inspired the book and film “V for Vendetta” is based on also fast approaches…the 5th of November:  Guy Fawkes Day, which is celebrated only in the U.K.

We may be going to parties, playing dress up or applying makeup as a way to disguise our real face, but no matter whether we are young or old, the fun is found in becoming temporarily anonymous…secret, clandestine. Then, we may attempt to be or do what we dare not in ‘real’ life. We escape the familiar and drift into the macabre. The irony here is that in that we are most aware of how little anonymity we still retain in our super-technological surveillance and social networking culture. Perhaps Halloween is becoming one of the last opportunities we have to become anonymous on a temporary basis.

The astrological weather for the next month is mixed and volatile. “Expect the unexpected” is the motto for November, making prediction and prognosticating a risky proposition. So, on to the forecast and analysis.

Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio – October 21st

We’ve been under this influence for about a week now, and what makes this one Mercury Retro unusual is that it is in Scorpio, where Saturn is at the moment.  There have been a number of excellent posts and analysis about this transit already, so I’m not going to wax further on it, except to mention that it is occurring at the same time as a major tension point in early November, followed by a Solar Eclipse. This combination might cause some folks to feel quite frustrated in trying to get new projects moving forward, as the big outer planets Saturn, Uranus and Pluto command center stage. Mercury will retrograde towards Saturn, where they’ll meet at the 13th Degree of Scorpio on October 29th, just before the eve of the Days of the Dead (October 30th-November 1st).  Try not to get too impatient as these two have a conversation that hones in on Scorpionic themes: jealousy, having or keeping secrets – or the sudden revealing of secrets (“Hello Angela Merkel…you’ve been spied on for a decade!”) unrequited hopes, dreams, desires and passions, and revenge (ouch…that hurt!).  Part of Saturn in Scorpio is the restructuring and revealing of dirty little secrets, regardless if they are sexual, like the Jimmy Saville or Catholic paedophilia scandals. Or be they political, like the NSA and U.K. GCHQ spying scandals (along with the damage control around them). With Mercury retrograde, this is also an excellent time to dig deeply into one’s beliefs and acquired conditioning, especially as regards human intimate communications and relating, and also around one’s deeply held fears or feelings of inadequacy.  What is really yours, versus what you took on board from all the people or concepts you’ve been exposed to since birth?

The Main Event: 4th Uranus Square Pluto – November 1st

“Watch yourself. This place can be pretty rough.” – Obi Wan Kenobi, Star Wars Episode 4

As I’ve been observing what is showing up on many different newsfeeds over the past two weeks, I am getting that this date may loom larger in our memories than anticipated. It is another step up in intensity, preparing us for the next one in April 2014, which is ostensibly the peak of the what began in June of 2012. This time Uranus is retrograde in Aries, whereas Pluto is gaining forward momentum in Capricorn. Pluto is now wielding the advantage, and although there have been more significant blows to the old guard power structures that are held within the individual and collective psyche, this time period may manifest as a counterpunch to that, invoking an ‘Empire Strikes Back’ theme.

The first thing I watch is what’s happening in Nature, both terrestrial and celestial. Then, in no particular order, what’s happening in my energy fields, awareness, and especially my body.  Next up is what is playing out in the political, financial, and religious arenas, followed by whatever is trending on alternative websites (re: spiritual concepts, conspiracy, etc.) and social media. I always pay attention to what other astrologers are writing about too.

We all have our filters operating, and this is why Uranus is so fascinating to me energetically and archetypally. It always seems to trash our expectations and our perceptions. And even though Pluto’s persona as Death allows it to roam mostly undetected through human activity, it is the Trump card in all endeavors.  Uranus says “all things must change” and Pluto adds, “All things must pass.”  Interesting that Miley Cyrus is riding high on the popularity of a hit song entitled ‘Wrecking Ball’, as this perfectly expresses the tension between Uranus and Pluto at this time.

Because Uranus is the energy of surprise, I reiterate that whatever I may prognosticate here is subject to change without notice. Reader beware!  So, to illustrate the pattern, here are some items of interest to illustrate the upcoming showdown…number 4 in this gunslinger episode of a celestial ‘High Noon’

and http://uk.reuters.com/article/2013/10/10/uk-sse-prices-idUKBRE99904O20131010

These are just a few examples of the many hot items in circulation in the last four weeks.

Essentially, since this transit began it has been mostly about awakening the majority of humanity that has been conditioned and repressed, but it is also unhinging some of the doors of belief in those of us that consider ourselves already with the program. For most human beings, there hasn’t seemed to be any other alternative than to get along in the system as best as one could, or resort to armed and violent resistance. Even those options are now dwindling, for resistance to change is not an option, and armed insurrection against heavily armed ruling elite won’t work either.

Since this transit occurs under the Mercury Retrograde, I feel that each one of us is being called to examine those beliefs that we have accepted about our being powerless to change anything, or that we even have a right to change anything or perhaps everything.  With Uranus also in retrograde motion, rash or sudden moves without examination of the consequences is probably to be discouraged. Uranus goes stationary direct on Dec.18th. Things may be very interesting this coming Christmas season, as from this point forward we will be more inclined to act rather than continue inner work or outer discussions.

Solar Eclipse – November 3rd

Nov 3 Solar Eclipse. This is one interesting chart. Uranus and Pluto are still in tight square. Saturn, Sun and Moon all conjunct around 11 degrees of Scorpio, with Mercury and the North Node not far behind at 7 degrees of Scorpio. There’s a Grand Trine between Mars in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn, and the South Node in Taurus…and earthly focus.  Meanwhile Chiron is in an awkward relationship to the Mercury/North Node conjunction, trying to apply a healing and soothing balm to the situation, but not quite sure where to place the ointment.  Chiron also is in trine (easy flow) to the Sun-Moon Eclipse, and adds a patina of grace to the stresses invoked by eclipses. The ancients viewed solar eclipses as mostly bad news…and for good reason. Natural disasters are almost always a feature of eclipses, especially solar ones. The indigenous peoples thought that the Moon was stealing the life-giving powers of the Sun, and from a metaphysical perspective, this it pretty accurate. There is a potential here for violent reactions to calls for more change, liberty, freedom or justice. The powers in charge (Pluto in Capricorn) clamping down on the opposition (the 99%), or marginalizing action through intimidation, more taxes, hidden costs, or punitive fines and fees. Keep everyone in survivalist mode, and they’re easier to govern.

Rather than spin your wheels over the local, regional or world situation, cultivate a deeper awareness of your personal desires and see how they might actually contribute to altering the course of consciousness on a larger scale. Meditate locally, manifest locally and globally. Opting out of the system, in whatever way and in small chunks at a time, while at the same time cultivating the idea of shared or cooperative living arrangements, may be the next intuitive strategy. Smaller is better, mobility over static security. Yoga stretches for the mind, heart and soul, not just the body.

In summary, we are here living in these times to midwife this planet and our human brothers and sisters out of a no-win predicament. There is no such thing as infinite growth, at least economically or financially. Religions need to fall apart, even the New Age religion, if we are to free our dogmas up enough to receive the clarity we will require to move out of our self-destructive tendencies. As Gaia goes, so do we, so we are being asked to cultivate our symbiotic relationship with Nature and the planet more and more consciously. Starting with a sense of gratitude is an excellent practice to employ.

What a time to be alive!

Until the next update, journey well.

Peace,
Isaac

Eclipsing the Truth

“Eclipsing the Truth”
A Special 11:11 Update

By Isaac George
Nov.11th, 2012

“The best explanation for the Moon is observational error – the Moon doesn’t exist!” –
Irwin Shapiro of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

As an astrologer and student of astrology I’ve always generally accepted the cosmology I inherited from friends and professionals who have been practicing their craft for a much longer period of time than I have.  In the beginning, I was fortunate enough to earn my stars by being part of a local astrology salon which gathered every five or six weeks for a potluck supper and a specific topic of interest.  The presentations, discussions and sometime disagreements were entertaining and thought-provoking, and I was always impressed with the sheer magnitude of collective celestial wisdom that many of these ‘pros’ demonstrated.  I was the fly on the wall, absorbing and learning. Eventually, a Vedic astrology reading with one of the Salon’s members indicated that becoming an astrologer and offering astrological counselling should be part of my repertoire.  Even though I was more interested in energy healing work and channelling at the time, I began collecting books on astrology and studying.  I don’t remember who my first astrology client was, but I do remember that they were quite happy with the results. Since that time till late last year my skills and knowledge have expanded, and a few years back I branded my work in this area as ‘soul-based’ astrology, or ‘astrosynthesis’.  My intuitive approach to reading a birth chart or a person’s transits were yielding insights that were beyond my book knowledge. I was perceiving the karmic patterns of the individual and using other techniques to help people to see their chart as a map of their consciousness, and to use it to eliminate destructive patterns and liberate themselves from the past.

At its core, astrology is a system of archetypes that represent inner states of consciousness, and there are many other archetypal systems in existence that have assisted human beings in trying to understand their environment and themselves for thousands of years.  Ancient mythologies, the Tarot deck, and the I Ching are all examples of archetypal wisdom and insight, whether used as a tool to access the unconscious mind or to invoke celestial influences to determine future outcomes.  Astrology is based on astronomy and mathematics, but the interpretation of the symbols, i.e., the planets, houses and constellations have developed and continue to develop as human awareness evolves.  What we know now can either validate or invalidate previous data. What we discover tomorrow will affect how we previously viewed our ‘reality’.  Astrology also relies heavily on the nature of linear time to demonstrate the outworking’s of planetary and stellar influences, and I’ve seen the truth of its accuracy in this area demonstrated over and over again when looking at major social, political or planetary processes.  Transits and progressions are the movie, while birth charts are a photograph. When the photograph is overlaid with the movie, one can see what is ‘up’ for an individual or the Earth as a whole.  Microcosm and macrocosm; as below, so above and vice versa.

Now, my astrological views of the Moon, Sun and Earth have been pretty much in alignment with the orthodox views for some time.  However, that has shifted considerably since January of 2012, and as a result I’ve had to reconstitute my basic modis operandi in these areas. The problem is the Moon itself.

In traditional astrology Earth’s moon is an archetype that has usually represented the feminine, the mother (physical and archetypal), emotions, dreams and enchantments.  There is also a ‘dark moon’ – Lilith, and this can represent the empowered or rebellious feminine aspect (think Kali) or dark turbulent emotional states and nightmares.  The moon takes on other layers of meaning depending on the sign and house that it is placed in in a chart.  Eclipses of all types (partial, total, solar, lunar, etc.) are significant astrological events, and there are many books and articles pertaining to eclipses and their meaning.

However, the one thing that was always bothering me were my instinctual feelings about the energy of the moon.  I usually ignored these feelings, as they felt rather primal and silly. Then, when viewing an impressive full moon all reservations would melt away temporarily. I’ve only ever experienced two total Solar Eclipses, and I can’t say I liked either one particularly. Both eclipses had a palatable oppressive feeling.  Since I was born under the Sun sign of Cancer, which is ruled by the Moon, I kept thinking that I should be completely comfortable with the influences of the moon. Not true. The strangest damned things seemed to crop up under full moons especially, like feeling broken-hearted for no reason whatsoever, getting into accidents, feeling slightly suicidal, or just plain freaked out. Was I just weird or what?

This year I began to receive new insights and new data regarding the Moon, and it is a fascinating journey. My new view of the Moon within the astrological structure is that it represents strong emotions, control and survival issues, and irrational thoughts and actions.  Here are some very interesting statements and factoids about the Moon that I was previously not aware of:

  1. The Moon has no magnetic fields, but yet its rocks are magnetised. Source: “Who Built the Moon” by Knight and Butler.
  2. Moon rocks have been dated to be between 4.5 and 5.3 million years old…older than Earth herself. – Source Harvard’s astronomy journal Sky and Telescope.
  3. “The moon is a freak of nature in that Earth is the only planet in the Solar System orbited by a satellite so enormous in ratio to the planet it circles.” Source – Isaac Azimov, scientist and science fiction writer.
  4. The Moon’s orbit is such that we never see that dark side. One side faces Earth all the time. Source: http://www.moonconnection.com/moon-same-side.phtml.
  5. “Using the base number of 10, the Sun, Earth and Moon share mathematical synchronicities not shared by any other planets and moons in our Solar System. Example: The Moon is 400 times smaller than the Sun. At a Solar eclipse the Moon is 400 times closer to the Earth. This makes the Moon appear, from Earth, to be the same size as the Sun. Both Sun and Moon set at the same points of the horizon at the Equinoxes and at the opposite points at the Solstices.  What are the chances that this is by accident?” – Source: “Who Built the Moon” – Knight and Butler.

The list of anomalies is just beginning.  In 1970 two members of the Soviet Academy of Sciences postulated that the only explanation for the existence of the Moon is that it was created as an artificial satellite by some alien intelligence and then placed there.  No other theorem made any sense to them, based on mathematical and other astronomical measurements. See the full article here.

Finally, one of the most intriguing bits is that the Moon may actually be hollow. When Apollo 12 landed on the Moon in 1969 it set up seismographs and then when they blasted off they intentionally let the Lunar module crash-land back on the Moon, an equivalent setting off a ton of TNT. The shockwaves built up for 10 minutes after impact, and NASA scientists said it sounded like someone had rung a bell. In 1970, a booster rocket from the aborted Apollo 13 mission also crashed on the Moon. The seismometers reported that the entire Moon again rang like a bell for 30 minutes and to a depth of 25 miles!!

A Zulu shaman by the name of Credo Mutwa has on many occasions stated that the Moon was not always orbiting the Earth, and that it was placed there by an alien race bent on controlling humanity through magnetic interference of the Sun’s light and also by disruption of the weather and geology of the Earth. The Sun was the female deity, until the Moon arrived to spoil things, is the essence of what he said to David Icke in his book “Human Race Get Off Your Knees”.  “The Moon, out of jealousy, is the bad sister to the Earth.”, says Credo. The Moon was also described in similar terms in the famous book “Earth – Pleiadian Keys to the Living Library” by Barbara Marciniak, published in 1994. Incidentally, the ancient Greeks describe a race that also remembered the Earth without a Moon, the Akkadians. Plato mentions them, as do other historian-philosophers from that period.  Finally, the source that started me on this little quest of questioning the official story of the Moon is the book “Worldbridger” by Juliet and Jiva Carter, and the body of direct experiential work they’ve pioneered with coded ceremony and sacred geometry in The Template.

What I am intending to do is to demystify the Moon, to encourage us to ask more questions and possibly discover where we may have habitually been repeating the bad habits of myth, superstition and tradition in viewing Earth’s satellite in the way we’ve been taught to do so.  If we, as a race, have made choices to disempower ourselves in order to evolve and realize ourselves as emissaries of Light, then the Moon may archetypally represent the biggest piece of the puzzle of the human unconscious mind…when we fell asleep by the light of the slippery Moon. Through this we have forgotten that our true heritage is aligned with the life-creating, life-sustaining rays and codes from our Sun, and its true consort, our Earth, Gaia. Moreover, our Source resides among the stars, and it is in fields of stellar radiance that we also receive our spiritual nourishment. When the Moon passes in front of the Sun/Son of Spirit, or blocks the starlight, we are cut off temporarily from the Giver of Life. It is small wonder why the indigenous peoples were mistrustful of the Moon, as they saw that it represented shadow, not light.

Who knows…what we may discover is a very critical key to solving the mystery of our past, which frees us for the future, and in the now.

Recommendations for enhancing vibrational levels during eclipses and moon phases:

  1. Create a sacred space, light some candles, and intend to focus on light within and without.
  2. A good, simple affirmation can be “I am the Light, I hold the Light, the Light is with me always.” This is from the book “Worldbridger” that I mentioned earlier. Chant it if that feels right for you to do so.
  3. Pray that Divine Light sustain and support the Earth Mother, and calms any disturbances that may arise.
  4. Be thankful and grateful, and avoid focusing on the old archetypes related to the Moon. It is more useful and conscious to create a container of intention for a new understanding. Surrender attachments to the old beliefs and patterns. Try to see the Sun as part of the Divine Feminine in balance, and Earth is the Divine Mother in manifestation. Without the Sun, Earth can be no more. The Earth is the Divine Feminine as Nurturer. Her consort is the Sun.

That’s all for this update…it’s my two cents for this 11:11. I choose to be the portal, rather than looking for one.

Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions or comments, I do welcome them.

Peace and blessings,
Isaac

Eclipse
(Waters) 2:04

All that you touch
All  that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that  you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.

All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.

All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that’s to come
and  everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

“There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it’s all dark.”

From “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd. 1973
